I am deeply grateful to the voters for electing me four years ago. Your trust allowed me to work hard to ensure the diverse needs of all our students are met, and they are college or career ready when they graduate.
For over 20 years, I have worked as a community volunteer and leader striving to improve educational programs for children and youth. I created new community-based programs, raised money for public education and tirelessly advocated for all our youth, particularly the most at-risk.
In my first term, I persuaded the District to focus on restorative programs, provide more support for our teachers, develop a new strategic plan and redesign our continuation high school to ensure all students have access to a rigorous, full-day program. The board has also been focused on 9th grade transition so all students have a strong start in high school.
Although I’m proud of what I’ve done, we still have much more hard work ahead of us. I am excited to contribute my time and energy once again to ensure all students graduate on time and have a plan for the future.
